A Turf Program Built Specifically for Virginia Lawns

Our turf program is built around one simple idea: if we control the soil and the weeds, the grass takes care of the rest.

We focus on:

  • Cool-season lawns – Kentucky bluegrass and tall fescue
  • Proper timing – Pre-emergent, post-emergent, and disease control done when it actually matters
  • Soil health first – Third-party soil tests and corrections so your lawn can actually use the fertilizer we put down

You’re not getting a “spray and pray” service. You’re getting a structured plan for the entire year.

Our 10-Application Turf Program (Overview)

Every lawn is a little different, but here’s what a typical year in our 10-application program looks like:

  • Early Spring – Pre-emergent crabgrass control + balanced nutrients
  • Spring – Broadleaf weed control + follow-up nutrients
  • Late Spring / Early Summer – Second round of crabgrass control, spot-spray broadleaf weeds as needed
  • Early Summer – Preventative grub control + soil amendments where needed
  • Mid-Summer – Disease monitoring and fungus control applications as needed, light feeding to avoid stress
  • Late Summer / Early Fall – Pre-seeding soil prep, weed control clean-up
  • Fall – Nutrients to thicken turf, support aeration & seeding
  • Late Fall – Winterizer nutrients for stronger roots and early green-up
  • Plus: Spot weed control is included throughout the season as needed.

We adjust the exact timing and materials based on weather patterns, soil test results, and what we see in your lawn.

Optional Bermuda Grass Treatment

Bermuda grass is aggressive – especially in cool-season lawns like tall fescue and Kentucky bluegrass. If you’re seeing patches of Bermuda creeping in, we offer optional Bermuda suppression treatments.

These services:

  • Target Bermuda without wiping out your entire lawn
  • Are usually done over multiple visits
  • Work best as part of a full turf program and seeding plan

We’ll walk your property, explain what’s realistic, and recommend the right approach for your specific lawn.

Soil Testing & Corrections (VA Tech)

Fertilizer only works as well as the soil it lands on. That’s why we offer professional soil testing through a third-party lab at Virginia Tech.

With your soil test, we can:

  • Identify pH problems holding your lawn back
  • See nutrient deficiencies or excesses
  • Build a custom correction plan for lime, nutrients, and organic matter

Instead of guessing, we use real lab data to guide the corrections. That’s how you get lawns that actually respond to treatments.

We currently provide turf fertilization and weed control services in:

  • Lake Anna and surrounding communities
  • Mineral

Please note: This page is for turf fertilization, weed control, and related lawn treatments.
We do not offer mowing or other landscape services in all of these areas.

Aeration & Seeding

In our area, core aeration and seeding are critical for a thick, healthy lawn – especially for tall fescue and Kentucky bluegrass.

Our aeration & seeding service:

  • Uses professional-grade equipment to pull cores, not just poke holes
  • Pairs with high-quality seed selected for our local climate
  • Is timed to match your turf program so new grass has the nutrition it needs

Aeration & seeding are the “reset button” for tired, thin lawns. When combined with our 10-application program, it’s the fastest way to transform a lawn and keep it there.
